Mohali, February 7
In the Aikom murder case, a court has issued bailable warrant against Darshan Singh Dhillon, Aikom Singh Dhillon’s brother, for not appearing in the court today.
Darshan Singh’s counsel Terminder Singh informed the court that Darshan had gone to Uttarakhand to appear for another case in the High Court in Nainital.
The defence was supposed to resume the cross-examination of prosecution witness Darshan Singh Dhillon.
Aikom’s wife Seerat Kaur Dhillon, prime accused in the murder of her husband, was produced in the court of District and Sessions Judge Archana Puri.
In the proceedings, the statement of nodal officer of Reliance Communications was recorded. The nodal officer told the court that call records pertaining to a Reliance number, whose records were sought by the court, were not available with the telecom company since the number had been ported out to BSNL in 2015.
However prosecution counsel refused to share the details as to what call records were sought, saying it would affect the case.
The court directed the SHO Mataur police station to ensure the presence of nodal officers of Tata Docomo and Idea at next court hearing in relation to procurement of call data records.
The next date of hearing has been scheduled for February 14.
Aikom Singh Dhillon’s body was found stuffed in a suitcase in a BMW car near his rented house in phase III B1 on March 19, 2017.
