Balongi murder suspect sent to three-day police custody

A local court here today sent Chandan, one of the five suspects in murder of a 19-year-old youth at Ambedkar Colony in Balongi earlier this week, to three-day police custody. He was arrested on Friday afternoon when he was strolling in the area nearby Ambedkar Colony.

The victim, Sunny Paswan (19), was found murdered along the Balongi road on Wednesday. The other four suspects involved in the incident – Deepak, Tiwari, Laddu and Vivek – are still absconding. All the four are residents of Ambedkar Colony. Meanwhile, the police have intensified their search to arrest the remaining suspects in the case.

A murder case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code was registered against five suspects at the Balongi police station on the complaint of victim’s father Madhur Dhan on Wednesday. The victim’s family belongs to Ballia in Uttar Pradesh.
