Bhavesh, Sohail power DAV to victory

Chandigarh, October 25

Bhavesh and Sohail smashed a half-century each as DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, beat Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 33, by 207 runs in an inter-school U-17 cricket tournament match here today. 

Batting first, DAV boys made 273/3 in 20 overs, with Bhavesh hitting a blistering 75 and Sohail scoring a quick-fire 72. Jashan Beniwal added 42 runs to the total. 

GMSSS, Sector 33, in reply, were all out for 66 runs in 17 overs. 

Anurag claimed 3/6, while Abhey (2/3), Beniwal (2/19) and Vijay Pal (2/4) took two wickets apiece. 

DAV’s Jashan Beniwal was adjudged Man of the Match for his al-round performance.
