Chandigarh, January 30
The Department of Hindi, Panjab University, today celebrated the birth anniversary of poet Jaishankar Prasad.
The event saw a film screening, discussions, expert talk and poem recitations paying tribute to the eminent author, playwright and poet.
Dr Gurmeet Singh, Chairperson, Department of Hindi, said, "In a first for the department, we have collaborated with MCM DAV College, and students pursuing the subject have shown keen participation in the event." The event began at 10 am with a short-film screening on the life and works of Jaishankar Prasad. This was followed by a talk on the works of Jaishankar Prasad. The key speakers for the event were Aprajita and Urvashi from MCM DAV College. Thereafter, Manpreet Kaur made a PowerPoint presentation, paying tribute to the eminent author.
