Patiala: The Computonics Club of the Post Graduate Department of Computer Science of Khalsa College, Patiala, distributed blankets, woollens and eatables among theneedy in view of the cold wave blowing in the region.



Patiala: The Computonics Club of the Post Graduate Department of Computer Science of Khalsa College, Patiala, distributed blankets, woollens and eatables among the needy in view of the cold wave blowing in the region. Dharminder Singh Ubha, principal of the college, said such efforts help in inculcating moral values among students. Professor Sukhmeen Kaur, Head of the Department of Computer Science, said the department would always strive hard to continue such efforts in the future also in order to imbue the spirit of serving humanity among the students. The work of distribution was successfully completed under the guidance of Professor Inderbir Kaur. Professor Jatinder Kaur, Professor Gurpal Singh, Professor Rachandeep Singh, Professor Ramnik Kaur and Professor Jaswinder Singh also joined this noble cause. OC

Campus placement drive

Patiala: Rayat-Bahra, Patiala Campus, organised a pool campus placement drive of Data 64. Over 200 students of BTech (final-year) from different institutions of Punjab took part in the drive. Representatives of Data 64 conducted the drive by holding group discussion, written test and personal interview. Data64 is an innovative educational organisation that develops, evaluates and disseminates programmes that foster intellectual development and career enhancement. Headquartered in Pune, the educational capital of India, Data64 provides cutting edge courses in the field of Information Technology with specific focus on cyber crime investigation and cyber security. It selected Bishavjot Singh, Rashpreet Kaur, Abhishek Bansal and Varun Sharma, all students of BTech final-year (CSE) with a package of over Rs 3 lakh per annum. Chairman Gurvinder Singh Bahra congratulated the students, their parents, faculty and the principal. OC

Special camp 

Patiala: The Environment Society of Government Mohindra College, Patiala, organised a special camp to sensitise students towards conservation of environment and wildlife protection. Various activities such as planting saplings and discussion on environmental issues were held. Students and faculty members from the society had a tour of the protected forest site at Sanour and gathered information regarding the endangered species. College principal Sangeeta Handa said the objective behind organising these types of camps was to make younger generation more sensitive towards environmental protection. Jarnail Singh, president of the society, and Harman from the Forest Department also spoke on the occasion and encouraged the students to work collectively for environmental sustainability. OC
