Sukhwinderjit Singh Manauli’s FIFA De Sitare, a book on international football players, was released with much fanfare at the Shivalik Public School, Phase VI, Mohali, on Sunday. Indian hockey legend Balbir Singh Senior, Ashok Kumar Singh, Olympian and son of hockey wizard Major Dhyan Chand graced the occasion. Other international sportspersons including India hockey player Dharamvir Singh and Olympian Neha Singh were also present during the release. Written in Punjabi, the book lays down the history of Indian football. Manauli has also penned his views on Bhaichung Bhutia and Sunil Chhetri. The author has also shared interesting anecdotes related to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Balbir Singh Senior said, “Books record and immortalize eminent sports personalities. This book has been successful in doing it.” Congratulating Manauli for his endeavour, Ashok Kumar said, “Manauli has covered all the aspect of football. I hope this book encourages more players from Punjab to take up the sport.”
