Panchkula, November 28
Two men lifted a bag containing Rs 1 lakh and documents from an Innova on the road from Shakti Bhawan to Majri Chowk in Panchkula today.
Yash Gupta, a resident of Sector 8, Panchkula, started from his house along with his uncle Chander Shekhar. They first went to the Mani Majra market to buy a blanket for his driver and then to the motor market to buy spare parts for his truck.
When they were returning and were on the road from Shakti Bhawan Chowk to Majri Chowk, two persons on a motorcycle followed them.
When they were crossing them, they pointed out that something was wrong with the vehicle. Gupta then got the Innova stopped. They got down and thoroughly checked the vehicle, but did not find anything wrong.
When they again sat inside the Innova, they started feeling dizziness and their eyes became watery. Meanwhile, someone opened the back door and lifted the briefcase and fled.
Gupta followed them, but they took the wrong side of the road and fled.
According to Gupta, the bag had Rs 1 lakh, a passport, a PAN card, three cheque books and other documents.
A case of cheating and theft has been registered at the Sector 5 police station.
“The suspects used a spray to make them unconscious. We are investigating the case,” said the SHO of the Sector 5 police station, Inspector Arvind Kumar.
