With the GST all set to be implemented from July 1, the automobile companies are wooing customers with attractive discounts across a range of vehicles.
Maruti Suzuki, Mercedes, Hyundai, Honda, Nissan, Mahindra and Mahindra and Ford India have come out with different schemes of discounts for the customers. With just two days left, the consumers are also thronging the showrooms to avail the discounts.
Dealers of Maruti Suzuki are offering discounts between Rs 25,000 and Rs 35,000. Hyundai Motor India dealers are offering discounts ranging between Rs 25,000 to one lakh.
Barinder Singh Saluja, owner of the Saluja Ford at Industrial Area, says they are offering discount ranging between Rs 10,000 and Rs 35,000 for the different variants of Ford cars which includes freebies like free insurance cover, foot mats and other accessories.
Ford India is offering discounts up to Rs 30,000 on its compact SUV EcoSport, sedan Aspire and Figo to pass on the benefits of new tax rates under the GST. The company is offering a discount on EcoSport between Rs 20,000 and Rs 30,000. Rajni, a working woman, said she purchased a car of her choice as it was available on discount.
Mercedes Benz has also announced reduction in prices of its different models produced in India by up to Rs7 lakh. Deepak Joshi, Managing Director of Joshi Auto Zone Mercedes at the Industrial Area, said that the company was offering a discount between Rs1.50 and Rs 4 lakh on the different variants of cars.
All dealers are trying to liquidate the old stock ahead of the new tax regime. Almost all car manufacturers have come up with limited schemes till June 30.
Audi has already slashed prices of its models up to Rs 10 lakh till June 30. BMW is also offering a major concession to the customers. One of the salesman at the BMW Krishna Auto Mobiles, Industrial Area, said the company was offering a discount between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 10 lakh depending on the models.
