Catherine Bhangu defeated Harnoor Kaur Sidhu 7-5 7-5 to ease into the girls’ U-16 semifinals in the ongoing STA-AITA Talent Series (TS-7) Tennis Championship at the Chandigarh Club here today.

Jyotsana Yadav blanked Sargam Singla 6-0 6-0, while Pawandeep Kaur registered a 7-5 6-2 win over Aaditaa Vashisht. Radhika Vasudeva overcame Riya Kaushik 6-3 4-6 6-3 to stay alive in the competition.  

Jyotsana, meanwhile, also moved into the girls’ U-14 semifinals after she beat Milli Pandit 6-1 6-3. Radhika Vasudeva defeated Anandita Sharma 6-1 6-0 in the other quarterfinal match.

In the boys’ U-16 quarterfinals, Ajay Singh humbled Arhaan Pahwa 6-3 6-4, while Sukhpreet Singh Jhoje continued his impressive run with an easy 6-0 6-3 victory over Harmanjot Singh. Sarabjot Singh defeated Avish Verma 6-2 6-0. 

In the boys’ U- 14 pre-quarterfinals, Sukhpreet Jhoje drubbed Yashsvi Balhara 6-1 6-0, while Aryan Arora tamed Karanveer 6-0 6-2.
