CBSE discontinues five vocational courses
Chandigarh, June 13
Five vocational courses-X-ray technician, medical lab technology, ophthalmic technology, air conditioning and refrigeration technology and bakery and confectionery-have been discontinued from the 2017-18 session as per the directions of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.
Apart from this, philosophy as an elective subject has also been withdrawn by the CBSE. However, students pursuing philosophy in Class XII shall continue with the same in 2017-18 and will have to appear for for the examination as per the senior secondary curriculum. Keeping in view the public demand for legal studies as an academic elective subject, the same would be offered at the GMSSS-35, Chandigarh. — TNS
