City cagers Amjyot, Ravi in Indian team for BRICS Games

City hoopsters Amjyot Singh Gill and Ravi Bhardwaj have been included in the 12-member squad that will represent the country in the BRICS Games, scheduled to be held in Guangzhou city, China, from June 17-21.
India has retained 10 of the 12 players which featured in the 5th SABA Championship.
Punjab shooter Arshpreet Singh Bhullar and Chandigarh power forward Amjyot Singh Gill are the new additions to the squad that successfully defended the title in Maldives last month.
Punjab’s Yadwinder Singh will also be a part of the squad, while centre Amritpal Singh, who was a part of the victory at the SABA championships, was unavailable for the training camp following an invitation from Australia’s NBL team Sydney Kings for their rookie camp.
The championship will be played on a round-robin format and the team with the best record will be declared the winner.
