Cadets of the Chandigarh NCC group secured the first position in the drill competition, besides bagging 29 medals in various competitions, at the National Integration Camp (NIC) held in Amritsar.

A total of 34 cadets, including 14 girls from different National Cadet Corps units under the Chandigarh group, attended the camp that saw participation of about 600 cadets from all over the country.

Cadet Somalica Sharma of the Air wing won four gold medals and one silver for leadership, best anchor, foot drill, cultural and essay writing, while Cadet Komal of the Naval wing secured first position in mehendi competition.

Wing Commander MR Pandeya, Commanding Officer of the Chandigarh National Cadet Corps Air Squadron, said the team, led by Associate National Cadet CorpsOfficer Harjit Kaur of the Air Wing, also secured first position in the cross-country run for teachers.
