Chandigarh, December 8

The UT police are yet to make any headway in the gunpoint robbery reported from a flat in Sector 63. The police said one of the miscreants had called the victim’s name, which suggested that he knew the victim. However, the victim claimed that he could not recognise that person. Four youths had robbed a couple at their flat on the intervening night of December 6 and 7. The robbers made off with Rs 3.5 lakh and three mobiles. Complainant Anil Sood (28) was present in the house with his fiancée. He said someone knocked at the door. As he opened it, they forcibly entered the flat and one of them pointed a pistol at him and asked the others to go inside and search for valuables. They took away Rs 3.5 lakh lying in a cupboard and three phones. — TNS
