Counselling centre comes up at Ropar courts

Justice Augustine George Masih, Administrative Judge of Ropar Sessions Division and Punjab and Haryana High Court, today inaugurated a counselling centre, ‘Mittar’, at District Courts Complex here. He also inaugurated a Legal Aid Clinic-cum-Legal Literacy Club at the Government College.

Counselling will be provided to victims, undertrials, prisoners, children of jail inmates, parties of matrimonial disputes and senior citizens, who undergo emotionally stressed circumstances, at the centre. Apart from the members of the family whose cases are pending before the family court, the victim under the POCSO Act, juveniles and other litigants will be provided free of cost professional counselling at the centre. — OC
