A cluster-level art and science exhibition was organised at Government  Model Senior Secondary  School,  Sector 37-B, here on Friday. The exhibition, depicting Seven Sister States of Northeast (Assam, Arunanchal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura) kickstarted with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The exhibition saw participation of six schools of the city. The stalls showcasing  the artefacts of the seven states were a treat to the eyes. The students brought alive the art and culture of the states through their innovative presentation. Depiction of their food, festivals, handicrafts and houses was quite apt and realistic. A variety of the traditional food was a major attraction. Dressed in traditional  attires,  students enthralled one and all with their mesmerising dance performances. It was a great learning  experience  for the students who had been toiling hard for the past many days to make this exhibition a success.

Saroj Mittal, Deputy Director, School  Education, Chandigarh, was the chief guest. Other dignitaries present were Alka Mehta, mission coordinator, SSA, and principals of various schools.
