Dastan-e-Shahadat brings forth martyrdom of Sahibzadas

“Dastan-e-Shahadat” a play enacted by eminent writer and director Joga Singh left everyone awestruck on the sixth day of the Patiala Natya Mahotsav at North Zone Cultural Center’s Kalidasa Auditorium, Virsa Vihar Kendra.
The play was based on martyrdom of young sons of Guru Gobind Singh.
Artistes brought forth the situation, wherein, the tenth Guru and his Sikh forces were surrounded by enemy at Anandpur Sahib. As a result, Guru Gobind Singh left Anandpur Sahib with his family, however, his two young sons and Mata Gujri got sepearted from the family while crossing Sirsa river.
Later, Mata Gujri along with Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh were captured by Wazir Khan, ruler of Sirhind. The conversation between grandmother and her grandsons which made the latter to stick to their religion at “Thanda Burj” made everyone emotional.
The news of Sahibzadas attaining martyrdom was shared to Guru Gobind Singh at Raikot where the tenth Sikh Guru announced the fall of Mughal empire.
It was from here that Guru Gobind Singh starts his journey towards Nanded and meets Madhav Das Bairagi and baptises him to Banda Singh Bahadur.
