The Dera followers who had gathered in Sector 3 Panchkula, at entered the Golf club in Sector 3 after breaking the fences, making the security guards run for their lives.
Recounting the horror, Balbir Sharma one of the security guards said that they had locked the main gate of the club after the Premis started vandalizing the property in Sector 3.
Barricades were also placed by the guards to stop the Premis from entering the Golf club. “The people who were escaping from Sector 3 saw the open ground of Golf club and turned towards it”, Balbir said.
He further added that they tried their best to stop them, but when the followers threatened them with sharp edged weapons, they had no other option to let them climb the gate and escape towards Ghaggar river which is on the rear of Golf club.
“It was impossible to stop so many people they would have killed us if we had argued”, said Sanjeev another security guard who was on duty at that time.
The mob broke the fence on the boundary to make a way to escape. While the security guards tried to stop the mob from entering through the main gate, many dera followers broke the fencing at the boundary, to enter the golf club. Another security guard said that they were lucky to escape unhurt. "The mob had turned aggressive, especially the women, who were instigating all the male members to break the gate, "said Sanjeev, another security gate . The guards were still in trauma.
The club was set up in 2003 over a 135 acre and playing to a par of 72, the 18-hole PGC matured over the years. The PGC is a public sports facility run by the Haryana Government and designed as part of a larger sports complex and also affiliated to the Indian Golf Union (IGU).
