“The Punjab Dispute Resolution and Litigation Policy, 2018, must be implemented in letter and spirit. If anyone is found violating instructions, he/she will not be spared,” warned Parshant Kumar Goyal, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairperson, District level Committee on Litigation, while addressing a meeting here today.

The DC reviewed the progress of heads of departments (HoDs) in implementation of the policy. He also instructed them to hold monthly meeting in order to review all pending court cases.

The DC asked various HoDs to ascertain the cause of long pendency of cases in courts and suggest ways and means to further speed up court procedure.

He directed them to ensure that reply of all court cases was submitted in time and appeals made within the stipulated period. If any discrepancy was found, the HoD concerned would be held responsible, he added.

He told HoDs to prepare a list of all pending court cases related to their respective departments and submit immediately. He advised them to save resources of the government by initiating a prompt action.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh and all the four SDMs also addressed the HoDs at the meeting.
