Drama fest ‘Prerna Ke Rang Bachon Ke Sang’ concludes

Two day drama festival of city schools ‘Prerna Ke Rang Bachon Ke Sang,’ organised by Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi (CSNA), concluded at Tagore Theatre here today. Six plays were staged by different schools during the festival.

Today’s performance include ‘Maut Ka Khel’ presented by Government Model High School, Vikas Nagar, ‘Waqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitam’ by GMSSS, Sector 32, and ‘Sabse Bura Hai Kaun’ also by GMSSS, Sector 32, under the direction of Malvika Bhasker, Sanjna Dhingra and Gurmeet, respectively.

Three plays staged earlier on Monday, include ‘Supreme Court Hazir Ho’ by GMHS, Sector 38 (West) and `directed by Aman Bhogal while Asha Saklani directed and presented play ‘Gala Mala Gadbad Ghotal ’ for GMSSS, Sector 41. The concluding play ‘ Moorkhon Ke Rajya Mein’ by Rekha Rani and Vijay Machal for GMHS, Sector 41, won a big applause.

The CSNA chairman, Kamal Arora, said with a view to give exposure to the aesthetic potential of prodigious school students, Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi, had organised six month theatre workshops in six government schools under the guidance of acclaimed drama experts.

All six plays were evolved during the workshops, which students were elated to present at Tagore Theatre.

Rajat Sharma conducted the festival. Chief guest Suman Sharma, Deputy Director, Vocational Education, UT, lauded the efforts of the CSNA for catching and encouraging student actors at a young age.
