The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) today conducted a draw for allotment of flats constructed at Maloya under the Small Flats Scheme, 2006. As many as 2,390 eligible beneficiaries were allotted their flat numbers at the venue of the draw, Kisan Bhawan in Sector 35 here.
The Estate Officer, UT, had forwarded a list of eligible beneficiaries to the CHB. Thereafter, the beneficiaries were asked to submit requisite documents and deposit applicable fees/charges with the board.
A total of 2,390 beneficiaries had completed the process.
The city branch of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) had prepared a software for conducting the draw, which was held under the supervision of senior officials of the UT Administration.
While 79 beneficiaries, who have physically challenged members in their families, were allotted flats on the ground floor while the remaining 2,311 allottees were allotted units on different floor, including the ground floor.
The process of the draw was telecast live on five big screens provided at the venue. Four counters were set up for beneficiaries to enquire about the flat number allotted to them. The result of the draw has been uploaded on the board website i.e. www.chbonline.in.
Allotment letters mentioning the flat numbers will be issued to 2,390 allottees in the next few days. The process of handing over the possession of flats is being undertaken and specific dates will be announced for this shortly.
The beneficiaries, whose names were recommended by the Estate Officer but could not be included in the draw because of non-submission of required documents or for want of fees/charges, will be given another opportunity by organising special camps for them.
