High drama was witnessed at Government Post Graduate College in Sector 1 here this evening when EVMs were being stored there as Congress supporters alleged that the machines had been tampered with.

Congress candidate from Panchkula Chander Mohan, party leader Ranjeeta Mehta and supporters were present at the spot.

Talking to The Tribune, Chander Mohan said senior officials of the Panchkula police were acting like pawns of BJP MLA Gian Chand Gupta.

On allegations of EVM tampering, he said, “It is not a big issue. Some villagers had suspicion why battery packs were being removed from VVPATs. We will look into the matter further. Even legal options are available.” — TNS
