The body of Suraj Prakash Malhotra, who died on August 19, was donated to the PGIMER.
It will benefit several students and scientists for teaching and research purposes. The institute presented to the family an araucaria plant with gratitude.
Malhotra was born in 1920 at Bhera (Pakistan). He joined the Irrigation Department, Punjab, in 1944 at Shujabad as Assistant Engineer, Irrigation. He migrated to India 1947. Upon incorporation of the Haryana State Minor Irrigation Tubewells Corporation, he was posted as its Managing Director and then retired as the first Engineer-in-Chief of Haryana Irrigation on December 31, 1977. — TNS
