Continuing with its drive against tax evasion, the UT Excise and Taxation Department inspected the premises of Hyatt Regency, where an exhibition-cum-sale was organised.

Assistant Excise and Taxation Commissioner RK Chaudhary said during inspection it was found that some stall owners were not issuing bills to customers. He said over Rs 2 lakh GST was recovered from dealers at the exhibition. Penalty would be imposed after scrutiny of documents, he added.
