Excise raids at three marble shops in Dhanas

Chandigarh, September 12

Officials of the Excise and Taxation Department, UT, conducted raids at three shops in the marble market, Dhanas.

Teams comprising Assistant Commissioner Birendra Singh, Geetu Badolia and excise and taxation officers Sanjeev Madan and SS Bedi conducted raids at Bajrang Kota Stone, Chandigarh Marble and Granite and Sri Nath Sales.

The raids were conducted on the directions of Jitender Yadav, Commissioner, Excise and Taxation, UT, and Kishori Lal, Commissioner, CGST.

Kumar Guarav, Additional Commissioner, CGST, and RK Chaudhary, Assistant Excise and Taxation Commissioner, coordinated the raids.

Chaudhary said the sale and purchase records of the shops were seized during the raids, adding that the department would recover tax and impose penalty if any tax evasion was found during verification.
