A three-day international conference on integrative medicine and holistic healing concluded at NIPER here today.
Participants resolved that diseases could not be healed completely unless we work upon patients’ emotional issues. The conference was organised by The Quantum Clinic, Mohali, in association with the Holistic Healing Trust and Max Super Specialty Hospital.
Dr Sachin Gupta, medical oncologist and primary organiser of the event, talked about the importance of yoga, deep breathing, meditation and pranayam for improving physical and mental health. Cancer hospitals should develop a team of alternative healers — reiki, pranic healers, hypnotherapists and psychologists.
Renee Singh, a motivational speaker, talked about stress management, emotional health and wellness. Prof Bharat Chourgade from Nagpur gave tips on using herbs for healing and wellness. Dr NK Sharma, spiritual mentor and director of the Reiki Healing Foundation, talked about ‘Food for Soul: Naturopathy, Lifestyle and Nutrition.’
Dr Mili Shah from Ozone Trust of India discussed role of ozone therapy in chronic diseases. Dr Raman Kapoor, an acupuncture specialist, talked about role of acupuncture in chronic illnesses.
