Flesh trade at Mani Majra salon, two held

The Chandigarh Police busted a prostitution racket by sending a decoy customer to a salon in Mani Majra, leading to the arrest of two persons on Monday evening. Two women were rescued by the police from the salon.
DSP (East) Satish Kumar conducted a raid at the salon, ‘Tressed Up’, in the NAC, Mani Majra.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) said they had received information about the flesh trade being at the salon following which a decoy customer called the salon manager, Swami Parsad, alias Sameer. The decoy finalised the amount with the manager, who then asked him to visit the salon.
The decoy customer went there and handed over Rs 5,000 cash to the manager. The manager kept Rs 1,000 with him as commission and further handed over Rs 4,000 to the owner of the salon, identified as Mahboob.
After the money was exchanged, the police raided the salon and recovered the amount from both the accused. Two victims of the prostitution racket were also rescued by the police.
The police said Mahmoob and his associate Sameer first used to provide jobs to vulnerable victims at the salon and then forced them to indulge in flesh trade.
A case against has been registered at Mani Majra police station. They will be produced in a court on Tuesday.
