For followers, Ram Rahim is still their MSG

For Dera Sacha Sauda followers at Naam Charcha Ghar in Sector 23 here, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is still their MSG (messenger of god).

Being the month in which his birthday falls i.e. on August 15, his followers are holding a one-hour naam charcha (prayer meeting) everyday here. They also recently celebrated his birthday by holding a plantation drive on August 14. Next day, a major birthday celebration was held in Sirsa.

“Premis come here and we hold naam charcha every week. However in August, we do it every day as the saint was born this month. There is no change in our devotion towards guruji as it was all a ploy to entangle him,” Rishi Pal, a senior member among followers, told Chandigarh Tribune.

A year after the Dera chief was convicted of rape and sentenced to 20 years in jail, they still revere him. The followers would mind if one does not use Dr in front of his name. “Please use Dr in front of his name as he was a saint who had done doctorate,” interrupts a ‘premi’ while interacting with this correspondent.

This Naam Charcha Ghar’s building is still dotted with posters of Ram Rahim’s movies. A poster of “Jattu Engineer” and “MSG” was seen on the building.

As per them, those supporters killed in the violence were innocent and these were some anti-social elements, who had mixed up in the crowd and created ruckus.
