The Pracheen Kala Kendra organised a ‘ghazal’ concert by eminent playback singer Vinod Sehgal to mark the 89th birth anniversary of the kendra founder, Guru ML Koser, who dedicated his life to the propagation of art and culture.
The chief guest on the event was Dr RC Mishra, ADGP, Haryana. Dr Archana Mishra, Principal, Government College, Panchkula, lighted the traditional lamp in the presence of kendra Chairman SK Monga, Registrar Shobha Koser, Secretary Sajal Koser.
Melodic splendor came alive as Vinod Sehgal opened up with a ‘ghazal’ by Shiv Kumar Batalvi. He established a rapport with the audience in the very first ‘ghazal’— ‘Shayer e fitrat hun main’ and ‘chehre pe kuch likha hai’ . Then he doled out several other famous and soulful ‘ghazals’ such as ‘Koi jhankar hai, khil uthe chehre sabhi’, ‘Lafz juda hai baat wahi hai, hain aur bhi duniya’ ,’ ek dua ne bacha liya hai’ and ‘ har ek baat pe kehte’. He concluded with his famous song — ‘Chhod aaye hum wo galiyan’. Sehgal modulated his voice and volume to bring alive the literary intent of the ‘ghazals’.
Dr RC Mishra said: “Music and literature nourish the soul”. Bhupinder Malik conducted the programme successfully.
