VP Singh Badnore, Punjab Governor and UT Administrator, launched a mobile app, “Tic Tic”, for live tracking of CTU city bus services at the Punjab Raj Bhawan here today.
This application provides real-time GPS bus location data for city buses operating in the tricity. It will provide information about the estimated arrival times. Anybody can access the bus tracker using mobile phones and smart devices that have access to the Internet. The mobile application is available on android store.
This mobile app will not only be beneficial for commuters but will also help the CTU to have stringent operational controls by analysing the real-time data received through app.

The commuter can also set alarms and get notification on his/her cellphone on the arrival of the selected bus.
At present, seven city bus routes of the city bus services have been put on this app on a pilot basis. These routes also have all voice announcements and display on inner passenger information boards for the stoppages within the buses for onboard commuters. The CTU will put all city bus routes on this mobile app by adding three to four routes every week.
Parimal Rai, Adviser to the Administrator, Anurag Aggarwal, Home Secretary, KK Jindal, Secretary Transport, and Amit Talwar, Director Transport, were present on the occasion.
