Guru Nanak Dev’s Parkash Purb was celebrated at Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36-D, with devotion and reverence. Around 150 students participated in ‘kirtan’ and paid tributes to Guru Nanak Dev by spreading his message of harmony, humility, equality and universal brotherhood. An exhibition of paintings depicting the luminous life and teachings of the Guru mesmerised all.
Kendriya Vidyalaya-47, Chandigarh
The annual sports day was celebrated on the premises of Kendriya Vidyalaya with zest and enthusiasm. Principal Sanjeet Kumar Sagar unfurled the national flag. After a march past, the events began with the lighting of a sports torch. The art of balancing a book by tiny tots added joy to the day.

Students of Kindergarten set the stage on fire during school’s annual cultural extravaganza, TARANG- 2019. The function commenced with the garlanding of Lord Ganesha, lighting of a lamp and paying tributes to school founder MR Dass. The achievements and important features of the school were highlighted through a PowerPoint presentation on the school report. Another stupendous performance was a medley of folk dances where tiny tots showcased their dancing skills. Yet another attraction of the show was ‘Masti ki Pathshala’ by students of KG II. A musical masterpiece on ‘Save Trees’ gave a message to conserve the environment.
Sri Guru Harkrishan Public
Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Chandigarh, celebrated the 550th Parkash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev on its premises with fervour and reverence. BJP leader Satpal Jain was the chief guest of the programme. The event began with the school choir presenting school a ‘shabad’, ‘Deh Shiva Var Mohe Ahe’. A light and sound show, ‘Noor Diya Paidan’, highlighting Guru Nanak’s birth and social problems of that time was presented. A clay-modeling exhibition was also inaugurated.

The ‘annual day’ was organised on the premises of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Public School, Sector 35-B, Chandigarh. The day was dedicated to the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.
Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula
Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, celebrated Guru Nanak Dev’s Parkash Purb. Students and devotees listened to ‘sakhis’ based on Guru’ steachings. Students presented a ‘shabad kirtan’ as well. The celebrations culminated with the distribution of traditional ‘karah prashad’ and sweets among students.
Valley Public, Panchkula
An inter-house folk dance competition was organised on the school premises. Participants of four houses mesmerised the audience with their performances based on the theme.
Adarsh Public, Chandigarh
