Mohali, April 6
Advocate Hardeep Singh Diwana was elected the president of the District Bar Association (DBA), Mohali, for the second time as advocate Amarjeet Singh Longia group sweeped the poll.
The voting at the District Courts Complex in Sector 76 started at 10 am and continued till 4 pm. Sources said the polling was peaceful.
Advocate Hardeep Singh Diwana emerged victorious as he polled 195 votes, defeating Anil Kaushik from the opposing camp, who polled 158 votes and Amrit Lal Bansal who got six votes.
For the vice-president’s post, Yudhvir Singh won. He polled 168 votes against Harjinder Kaur Bal, who got 109 votes and Kuldeep Singh, who polled 77 votes. Lalit Sood won the post of Secretary by receiving 190 votes.
The election to the post of Joint Secretary was hotly contested with Ravinder Kaur (184) winning by a margin of nine votes against Ritu Joshi (175). Gurvir Singh Lali won the post of Treasurer polling 195 votes.
