Harwin beats Adiv, twin titles for Maitreyi

Chandigarh, November 19

Harwin overwhelmed Adiv Singh 5-3 to win the U-10 title in the boys and girls combined category on the concluding day of the STA Tennis Tournament at the Chandigarh Club, Sector 1, here today. 

Earlier, in the semifinals, Harwin humbled Gurbaaz 4-1, while Adiv dumped Yeisvardhan 4-2.

In the boys’ U-12 category, Aditya Chauhan prevailed over Pranay 6-4. 

Aditya had tamed Jashan 5-1 in the semifinals, while Pranay blanked Udbhav 5-0. 

The girls’ U-12 title went to Maitreyi Phogat after she dismissed Vishita 6-0 in the final. In the semifinals, Maitreyi drubbed Avneet 5-0, while Vishita edged out Ajenika 5-1. Maitreyi also clinched the girls’ U-14 title with a 6-2 win over Sargam Singla in the final. 

The boys’ U-14 title went to Chaitanya Dua after he registered a 6-0 win over Aditya Chauhan in the title clash. 

Earlier, in the semifinals, Chaitanya dismissed Himanshu 5-0, while 

Aditya got past Vansh Dhiman 5-1.
