Patiala, May 3
As a part of ongoing drive against food adulteration, the Health Department raided an Easyday store in Rajpura today.
The officials collected 10 food samples and sent it to the state testing lab to check adulteration.
Acting on the orders of Kahan Singh Pannu, chairman, Mission Tandrust Punjab, a team led by District Health Officer (DHO) Satinder Singh raided the store.
Satinder said food samples included tea, sauce, mustard oil, besan, lentils and Patanjali’s desi cow ghee.
The DHO said, “The raid was the part of the routine inspection. We will be conducting more raids in coming days.”
He said two samples collected last month from a dairy in Nabha were found substandard. “The department has served notice to the owner,” he said.
Satinder said, “Apart from raids, we are also organisng workshops for food handlers to increase the hygiene levels.”
