The police were informed about the incident following which a police team from the Sector 26 police station rushed to the spot. After sometime, the police managed to get the locks open. A case under Section 342 , IPC, has been registered against hotel manager Jatinder.

Capt Mohanbir Singh, who owns the chain of Hot Millions restaurant, said the allegations levelled against his staff members are false as nobody was locked inside the restaurant.

Singh said after bailiff and Vijay Kumar reached the restaurant they were made to sit inside, but a few minutes later a group of labourers also reached the restaurant.

“My employees had no idea why the labourers were called and to stop them from entering inside, shutters were put down,” he said.

Singh said only the front entry of the hotel was locked and the rear door was open and anyone could have left from there.
