Himanish defeats Paras in tennis final

Chandigarh, June 16

Himanish faced some resistance before registering a narrow 4-3(3) win against Paras to win the combined U-10 title on the concluding day of the Lawrebs Tennis Open Tournament here today. 

Earlier, in the semifinals, Himanish defeated Ramneek 4-2, while Paras overpowered Vishan 4-0.

Pragun won the boys’ U-12 title by defeating Arpit 5-3. Earlier, he defeated Vismay 5-2 to book his berth in the final, while Pragun defeated Agamjot 5-4(2).  

Aditya defeated Yash 5-3 in the boys’ U-14 final. In the semifinals, Yash defeated Samarpit 5-2, while Aditya fought past Arpit 5-4(5).  

In the final of the girls’ U-12 category, Agampreet overpowered Hitanshi 5-1. Agampreet had defeated Akshita 5-1, while Hitanshi overpowered Harjas 5-2 in the semifinals. Vanya won the girls’ U-14 title by defeating Kashvi 5-1. Earlier, she head defeated Aradhay 5-1, while Kashvi beat Ayushi 5-4(7) in the last-four. —TNS
