Hry sends panel of three officers for UT DC’s post

The Haryana Government has sent a panel of officers to succeed Ajit Balaji Joshi as the Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh.

The three-year tenure of Joshi, a 2003-batch Haryana-cadre IAS officer, will end in October this year.

Sources said the panel includes the names of Mandeep Singh Brar (2005 batch IAS officer), Ravi Prakash Gupta (2007 batch) and Raj Narayan Kaushik (2010 batch). The Haryana Government has also sent the ACRs of the three officers. While sending the ACRs, the state government said no criminal case was pending against any of these officers.

The UT Administration had asked the Government of Haryana to send a panel of officers for the post two months ago. The Administration has started the process so as to get the approval to appoint Joshi’s successor before his term expires.

The post is reserved for Haryana-cadre IAS officer.

Sources said now the Administration would now recommend the name of one of the three officers to the Ministry of Home Affairs for the post.

The Ministry will forward the name to the Cabinet committee of appointment for its final approval.

  • The UT Administration has again sought a panel of officers for the post of Managing Director, CITCO, from the Government of Punjab. The post is vacant for long. The post of the Chairman of the Chandigarh Housing Board is also vacant in the city.
  • The UT Administration has extended the tenures of three PCS officers, namely Navjot Kaur, Rupinder Singh Brar and Rakesh Kumar Popli.
