IAF celebrates 86th anniversary

The 86th anniversary of IAF was commemorated at the Air Force station here today with a solemn wreath laying ceremony to pay homage to the martyrs marking the event.
Air Commodore S Srinivasan, Air Officer Commanding, 12 Wing, Chandigarh, paid floral tributes at the station war memorial on behalf of all air warriors. This was followed by an oath-taking ceremony where all personnel of the station re-dedicated themselves to the service of the nation.
Felicitating Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel, civilian employees and their families on the occasion, Air Commodore Srinivasan, urged them to strive for professional excellence and put in their best efforts for achievement of the assigned tasks.
It was on this day in 1932 that the Indian Air Force was officially established as an auxiliary air force of the British Empire.
