Chandigarh, April 7
An AGMUT-cadre IAS officer posted as Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Central)-cum-Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the UT Adviser is in trouble.
An HCS officer, Mandeep Kaur, posted as Secretary in the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB), has complained to Adviser Vijay Kumar Dev against the UT-cadre officer, Prince Dhawan, accusing him of misuse of power and showing disregard to a woman officer.
In a written compliant to the Adviser, the HCS officer has alleged that an employee of the CHB was threatened for pursuing a case of requisition of an official vehicle of the CHB from the SDM. The employee was called to the office of the SDM in Sector 17 and told not to pursue the case of requisition of the vehicle.
The UT Adviser did not respond to a query about the status of the complaint made by the HCS officer. The matter has reportedly been brought to the notice of the Home Secretary and Chairman of the CHB.
Mandeep Kaur has further alleged that the CHB employee was told that Mandeep would no longer be the Secretary of the CHB as she was under transfer and the file pertaining to her transfer was lying on his table. She pointed out that the power to transfer HCS and PCS officers was vested with the Adviser and not the SDM. Asked to comment on the issue, Mandeep Kaur said it was an internal matter of the Administration. On the other hand, Prince Dhawan said he had already returned the vehicle but he had no knowledge about the complaint made by the Secretary of the CHB.
She has sought the intervention of the Adviser and action against the UT-cadre officer.
