Ropar: Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) will hold the three-day annual inter-college sports fest --- Aarohan --- from tomorrow. Umpires’ seminar from today
Mohali: Punjab Cricket Association will hold a four-day seminar for umpires from Friday. The seminar will be held under former Test umpire SK Bansal. Former international umpire HS Sekhon and Ranji panel umpires Navdeep Singh, Ranjeev Sharma and Amit Bansal will be a part of the faculty, the sports body said here on Thursday. Forty PCA panel umpires and 15 new entrants will attend the event, in which the umpires would be updated on the latest laws of cricket, the PCA added. — TNS
Bhagat Singh Club triumph
Chandigarh: Shaheed Bhagat Singh Club beat Mata Naseen Kaur Academy 35-30 to clinch the open style Kabbadi title on the concluding day of the Rural Games, organised by Baba Gazi Das Club at Radomajra, near Kurali. In the women’s final, Punjab Police beat Indian National Team 28-20. Moga district, meanwhile, registered a 32-28 win over Barnala to win the circle style kabaddi title in the senior category.
