In a week, over 21K register for admission to UT colleges

CHANDIGARH:More than 21,337 students have already registered for admission to the UT colleges within eight days of the beginning of the process.

More than 21,337 students have already registered for admission to the UT colleges within eight days of the beginning of the process. However, total seats (centralised and non-centralised courses) in the colleges are 8,710.

According to the data, more than 7,000 students have registered for Bachelor of Arts (BA I), followed by 4,269 registrations for Bachelor of Commerce (BCom I), 1,910 in Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA I), 1,139 in Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA I).

The registration in Bachelor of Science (non-medical) was 11,269, while for Bachelor of Science 

(Medical), the registrations recorded till date were the lowest at 657.

Meanwhile, 40 seats each in the BBA and BCA first semester at Post Graduate Government College, Sector 46, are yet to be approved by Panjab University. Combination of statistics, physics and mathematics are available in the BSc (non-medical course) at Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11. An elective subject — environment conservation — has been introduced for the BA I, however, the is also subjected to approval by Panjab University.

The college admissions began from June 5 and registration will continue till June 26. Students are required to get the 

form printed and then submit it to the admission committee at their respective college at the time of admission.
