Inaya Aggarwal, Om bag top honours

MOHALI: Inaya Aggarwal, a student of Yadavindra Public School, Mohali, and Om, a student of Shishu Niketan Senior Secondary School in Chandigarh, stood first in Category I and II, respectively, during The Tribune Drawing And Painting Competition, held at Manav Rachna International School here today.

Inaya Aggarwal, a student of Yadavindra Public School, Mohali, and Om, a student of Shishu Niketan Senior Secondary School in Chandigarh, stood first in Category I and II, respectively, during The Tribune Drawing And Painting Competition, held at Manav Rachna International School here today.

In Category I, in which students from Classes III to V participated, Aditya Kumar Sharma from St Soldier International School, Sector 28, Chandigarh, grabbed the second spot followed by Swarit Sharma, a student of Ajit Karam Singh International Public School, Sector 125, Kharar.

In Category 2 (KG to Class II), Aransh Dhawan, a student of St Anne’s Convent School, and Arnav, a student of St Soldier International School got the second and third position, respectively. Over 700 students from tricity schools participated in the competition, which was supported by the Manav Rachna Educational Trust.

Ravinder Sharma, a former professor of the Government College of Art, Chandigarh, and Prof Anita Gupta from the college were judges during the competition.

In Category I, students were told to draw and paint on the topic, ‘A Festival of India’. In Category II, students were required to colour the stencil sheets, given to them on the spot.

Those who got the consolation prizes in Category I were Yash Prajapat (DC Montessari Smart School), Lakshita (Manav Mangal High School), Davisha (St Soldier International School), Advaith Sai (Shishu Niketan Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh) and Tanish Gupta (Vivek High School). In Category II, Priyansh (Tribune Model School), Asreet K Goraya (YPS, Mohali), Kawalmeet (St Isher Singh Public School), Gracia (Smart Wonders School) and Armaan (KB DAV School, Sector 7, Chandigarh) were given consolation prizes.
