India’s cultural diversity on display

The prodigious student artistes of Aryans Group of Colleges, leading confluence of educational institutions, brought alive diverse regional music and dance traditions in the 12th edition of their theme-based cultural bonanza titled ‘Rajni-2018’ at Tagore Theatre here on Saturday.
The amateur artistes were dressed in regional traditional attires which symbolised ‘Unity in diversity’.
Dr HK Bali, Director and Cardiologist, Fortis Hospital, was the chief guest on the occasion. He was welcomed by Dr Anshu Kataria, Director General of Aryans group. Dr Bali was honoured by the Aryans group on World Heart Day for his contribution to society in the presence of dignitaries.
Young Yapik Ekke and a team from Arunachal Pradesh gave a serene start to the cultural bonanza with an invocatory of Ganesh Vandana.
An aura of divinity and mysticism was created by Shabnum and a group from Jammu and Kashmir, who gave a serene spell of soulful prayer ‘saibo saksham mein’ before Chonung and a group from Tripura and Nagaland performed the bamboo dance.
The Yanga Nilling and the group performed the popular Arunachali folk dance ‘siso ghis’ while Atul Raj and his team presented a Bhojpuri dance.
The scene shifted to the adjoining states with artistes presenting Shimla’s naati folk dance ‘rorhi jaana meri ammiyein’. Bollywood dances by Anishka and the group delighted the audience while the boisterous bhangra by Prabhjot, Charanjeet and the group brought on stage the culture of Punjab which was greeted with large applause.
Enthralling performances came from Pollywood artiste Pardeep Singh Sran with song ‘cutiepie’, Punjabi singer Balraj and Kashmiri mimicry star Anwar Kasana.
