Around 90 riders from different parts of the country participated in the championship.

A rider needs to clear two regional equestrian competitions before participating in the Junior National Equestrian Championship. Makkar was the only rider from the city to participate in the event.

“Junior National Equestrian Championship is the most-awaited championship of the year and I am happy to have won a team medal. I got to see some of the best horses of the country competing here,” said Makkar. A student of Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, Makkar last month had impressed everyone with his performance at the Delhi Horse Show.
