In a relief to the commuters, the Department of Engineering opened the stretch of the Jan Marg from Matka Chowk to the Sector 16/17 light point for traffic on Monday.

The road was closed in April due to the ongoing construction of the project.

Mukesh Anand, special secretary of the department, said the UT Administration was all set to complete the underpass project in stipulated time. The new underpass will allow the visitors to go directly to Rose Garden without crossing Jan Marg, one of the busiest roads in the city. Sources said the construction agency has completed the major work of the underpass.
