Hosts Learning Paths School (LPS) defeated Vivek High School by 23 runs to set up the title clash with Smart Wonders School in the LPS U-13 Cricket Championship here on Monday.

Batting first, the hosts scored 115/9 in 20 overs. Parth Sharma (33) and Chetanaya (23) made useful contributions to the LPS total. Bikram was the most successful bowler for the visitors, claiming 4/21.

In reply, Vivek High School could only manage 92/5 in the allotted overs. Ranveer Singh scored a 33-ball 37, while Abhay made 25 runs. For LPS Gunmeeth Singh and Namitveer took two wickets each.

Earlier in the day, Smart Wonders School registered a nine-wicket win over Strawberry Fields School, Chandigarh.

Electing to bat, Strawberry Fields were bowled out for 83 runs in 17 overs. Ujay made 21 runs for the side. Hanoor returned with figures of 3/10.

In reply, Smart Wonder School scampered home in 13 overs with nine wickets to spare. Jasnoor scored a brisk 35, while Harnoor hammered 32 runs. — TNS
