A new machine for pruning trees in Mohali has been purchased at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore from France. Work on pruning will begin soon.
This was stated here by MLA Balbir Singh Sidhu after discussing development works with some officials and taking a round of various areas. The MLA said the pruning would be done along the lines adopted in certain foreign countries.
He said the MC had been directed to clean road gullies and ensure a proper disposal of rainwater from parks.
The MLA, who heard problems of Phase II residents, said traffic lights would be installed on the road dividing Phases II and IV, near the Community Centre. He asked the police to deploy traffic personnel for two hours in the morning and evening at that point till the traffic lights were put up.
He said a road divider would also be constructed from the Madanpur chowk to the Diplast chowk. — OC
