Man alleges assault by PRTC staffer

Patiala, November 20

An employee at the Ministry of Finance, GOI, today alleged that he was thrashed by the Pepsu Road transport Corporation (PRTC) employee (a bus conductor or driver). A complaint has been registered in this regard.

In his complant, Neeraj Gandhi, superintendent at the office of Central Excise and Service Tax Division, Patiala, said he was on his way to his office when a PRTC bus jumped the red light at the Urban Estate Phase-3 light point and was about to ram into him. 

He said a man, probably a conductor or driver of the bus, descended from the bus and attacked him physically through the window of his vehicle. He said he had complained at the office of the PRTC as well.

Meanwhile, SHO Urban Estate Harry Boparai said the police had received a complaint on the matter. “We have received the complaint and officials have been directed to investigate it. We will act as per the findings,” he said.

Gurlovleen Singh Sidhu, Managing Director (MD), PRTC, said he had not received any complaint yet. “We will act on the matter as per requirement,”he added.
