Man claims Rs 30 lakh property fraud

A Sector 29 resident has claimed that he was duped of Rs 30 lakh by four persons on the pretext of selling him a property in Sector 22 here, which they did not own.
Mohan Sharma (40) submitted a written complaint to the Superintendent of Police against Raj Jain, Jhumar Mal Jain, Vivek Jain, all residents of Sector 22, and Sunny Dhaiya, a resident of Baltana.
As per the complaint, the accused had approached him in September 2016 and offered 50 per cent share of a house in Sector 22, wherein three of the accused live. Sharma alleged that Raj and Jhumar Mal had claimed that they were the shareholders of the 50 per cent of the property in question.
The deal was finalised at Rs 1.06 crore and Raj and Vivek demanded Rs 30 lakh immediately even though Sharma was offering only 10 per cent as earnest money. At the time of execution of the agreement to sell, Sharma was provided a copy of the sale deed and he found that Raj did not have a share in the property but his daughter and son-in-law, who are NRIs, did have.
The accused told Sharma that the daughter had already transferred the property in the name of Raj and that the documents will be shown to him as soon as she comes to India. As the accused kept delaying the matter, Sharma himself found out from the estate office that Raj was not a shareholder. Realising that he had been cheated, Sharma filed the complaint. Later, the police booked Raj and Jhumar Mal under Sections 420 and 120-B, IPC.
