A 45-year-old man reportedly committed suicide by jumping into Sukhna Lake this afternoon. According to the police, the victim has been identified as Shiv Kumar, a resident of Nayagaon.
The police said according to eyewitnesses, the victim was standing near the stairs from where boats are hired. Suddenly, he jumped into the lake. Visitors informed the police about the incident following which divers rushed to the spot. The divers brought the victim out of the water and rushed him to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, where doctors declared him brought dead. The police shifted the body to the mortuary and informed the victim’s brother, Sahil.
No suicide note was recovered from the spot.
