The police on Wednesday presented a challan against a 25-year-old man who slit a five-year-old girl’s neck in full public view in February.
The accused, Kamlesh, has been charged under Sections 302 and 307 of the IPC by the police. The medical report in the challan has, however, brought to light that the child died due to shock and heart failure.
The incident took place on February 25 at Sanjay Colony in Industrial Area, Phase I, when Kamlesh grabbed Ujala and slit her throat. Enmity with the deceased’s father is said to be the motive behind the incident.
Kamlesh had, however, claimed that he was possessed by an evil spirit, which committed the crime.
